Right at the turn of the year we were able to welcome a special guest to our training hall. Kyuji Yokoi, a Japanese badminton coach who runs his own badminton school (Elephant Badminton School) in Nagoya and has already been a guest in countless countries to promote the sport of badminton, was visiting Europe during the Christmas holidays and, after a short inquiry, agreed to come to us in Berlin. With a spontaneously assembled training group consisting of youth players and adults from our first team, he conducted a 4-hour training session and showed us a small, exciting insight into everyday training at his Japanese badminton school. In addition to many new exercises and methods for hitting and running technique, great emphasis was also placed on the training and competition mentality. His comments on differences in technology and training implementation in European countries and the Asian continent were also very exciting. All in all, all participants had a lot of fun with the training session and hope to meet Kyuji again. We would like to thank him very much and wish him much success and fun on his future travels.
