It’s a fact of play that will undoubtedly make people talk, and rage, surely. This Friday evening, Morocco qualified for the semi-finals of its CAN at the expense of Cameroon, despite a new contentious arbitration decision which could have changed the course of the match.
In the 68th minute, Morocco still only led 1-0 when Bryan Mbeumo appeared in the Moroccan penalty area. Hit on the foot by Masina, he collapsed in the area, but the referee did not flinch. At slow motion, however, the contact seems clear.

“The referee could have called a penalty and the match would have taken a different turn,” regretted Carlos Baleba, also speaking to BeIN Sports. The pre-match had already been marked by a controversy linked to the refereeing, and the 1/8 final against Tanzania suffered from a similar episode.
