Uliana Semenova: Remembering a Basketball Legend

The double Olympic champion with the USSR died this Wednesday, at the age of 73.

A figure in Latvian and international basketball has passed away. Player Uliana Semenova died on Wednesday at the age of 73, the Latvian Basketball Federation said on its website.

The 2m10 pivot (according to the Latvian Federation), entered into the Hall of Fame in 1993 then the Fiba Hall of Fame in 2007, had a rich record of two Olympic titles with the USSR team, won in 1976 and 198. She also won three world champion titles and 10 European champion titles with the national team.

Ouliana Semenova successfully spent the majority of her career with TTT Riga (1967-1987), in Latvia, before playing in Spain but also in France, at US Orchies.
