Heerenveen vs Feyenoord: Snow Plow Plea to Save Match

If it is up to SC Heerenveen, next Sunday’s home match against Feyenoord will go ahead at all costs. The Frisian club even calls on fans to come and clear snow.

“Attention fans, snow plows wanted!” writes a fan from Heerenveen X. Fans are welcome on Friday, January 9 from 12.30 pm at Skoatterwâld, the Frisians’ training complex. “We are going to do the training field first and then head to the stadium. Bring a snow shovel and be careful on the way!” The message is shared on behalf of Gertjan Hilarius, head groundsman of the club.

Heerenveen is now back in the Netherlands, but that did not go smoothly. The club flew back from Barcelona to the Netherlands on a charter flight. Due to the winter weather, the Frisians were initially unable to leave Northern Spain, but they were eventually able to land in Groningen. The Rotterdam opponent was able to land – with some delay – at Rotterdam The Hague Airport on Wednesday. The match against Feyenoord is scheduled for 12.15 pm next Sunday.
