Benfica announced the renewal of Arnas Voitinovicius. The 19-year-old Lithuanian goalkeeper did not hide his satisfaction at prolonging his connection to the Reds: «It’s a good step, now it’s time to continue. It’s a big club and this step is very important for me. I’ve been here for two years and I feel really good.”
Arnes Voitinovicius arrived at the Eagles in January 2024, from FK Riterai. The Lithuanian goalkeeper took over in goal for the under-19s until the end of the season. A season followed with more than 2500 minutes played by the under-23s.
Voitinovicius has alternated between working with the under-23s, the B team and the main squad since the start of this season. The Lithuanian youth international was one of the goalkeepers called up last month to fill the absence of the injured Samuel Soares.
Voitinovicus made his debut in the Reds’ B team in the last round of the first round of the Liga 2in front of the FC Porto B (1-1). «I’m playing, I have a lot of games and I feel like I’m improving. Of course the goal is to get to Team A and play there, but now this is a step forward. I’m very happy”, he stressed.
