The Saint-Etienne staff continues to experience changes. As mentioned previously, a new physical trainer was to arrive in the person of Ben Smalley. The latter was present yesterday morning at L’Etrat.
This summer, Kilmer began working on Eirik Horneland’s staff. If several men in place until then have packed their bags, many new faces have arrived at ASSE. As soon as the restart, David Tivey, notably through Chelsea, appeared on the lawns of L’Etrat, in charge of physical preparation. A few days later in Chambon-sur-Lignon, it was the face of Donough Holohan, who remained for many years at Manchester City, that we discovered. He is the director of performance at ASSE and therefore oversees medical and physical preparation. Calum Daley, formerly of Charlton, also arrived before Paolo Gaudino, who worked for several years at Manchester United and who is particularly responsible for the re-athleticization of players, arrived in his turn.
He will be supported in this mission by Ben Smalley whose arrival was announced by our colleagues at Progress at the end of last year. The latter has been present at ASSE for about a week and has started working for the Greens. He was notably in charge of Ebenezer Annan’s individual session this Tuesday at the Robert-Herbin Sports Center in L’Etrat. His task will therefore most certainly be, among other things, to take care of the convalescence of players who have experienced physical problems. The Saint-Etienne staff, particularly in the area of physical preparation, therefore found the workforce that the club wanted to give it this summer with the arrival of Ben Smalley, while David Tivey left after a few months, which was a possibility which had been mentioned upon his arrival at ASSE.
