The Chía delegation participated in the Badminton Festival of Festivals, where it obtained an important balance of medals that allowed it to reach the general runner-up position in the discipline, reflecting the sporting process and the competitive level of its athletes.
The results were led by six gold medals, obtained by:
- María Helena Salgado, sub 9 category, female individual.
- María Helena Salgado – Josué Buitrago, sub 9, mixed doubles.
- Jerónimo Sánchez, sub 11, men’s singles.
- Jerónimo Sánchez – Antonia Salgado, sub 11, mixed doubles.
- Antonia Salgado – Sofía Sierra, sub 11, women’s doubles.
- Emiliano Márquez – Josué Buitrago, sub 9, men’s doubles.
Added to this were five silver medals, achieved by:
- Jerónimo Sánchez – Tomás Venegas, sub 11, men’s doubles.
- Daniela González, sub 11, female singles.
- Daniela González – Juan Rojas, sub 11, mixed doubles.
- Isabella González – Juanita Salgado, sub 13, women’s doubles.
- Daniela González – Ximena Romero, sub 11, women’s doubles.
Participation was completed with three bronze medals, obtained by:
- Sofía Sierra, sub 11, female individual.
- Emiliano Márquez – Sofía Sierra, sub 11, mixed doubles.
- Emiliano Márquez, under 9, men’s singles.
In total, the delegation won 6 gold medals, 5 silver and 3 bronze, results that placed Chía as general runner-up in badminton at the Festival of Festivals.
The Municipal Institute of Recreation and Sports of Chía – IMRD recognizes the commitment and performance of athletes and ratifies its support for the training and competition processes of the municipality.
