Fantasy Football’s 12 Best QBs for the Wild Card Round
Welcome to the first round of the NFL playoffs! We have six games available for the Wild Card round and only one game with a spread greater than 3.5 points. Each of these games should be close, as even the Rams, 10.5 favorites in Carolina, lost to the Panthers less than a few months ago. Close playoff games are always good for fantasy points, as teams have no choice but to leave it all out on the field. For quarterbacks, this often means quicker attempts. Josh Allen is dealing with a foot injury, but as long as he’s there, he’ll be running and without a strong set of receivers, he’s easily the best fantasy quarterback in the first round. Matthew Stafford and the Rams are the implied highest total, which I’m excited about, even though he’s not padding his stats with rushing attempts. Jalen Hurts though, he will hold his own against a weak 49ers defense and I expect the move to be used early and often in a must-win playoff game. Herbert has taken a beating this season with injuries off the line for the Chargers, but was able to rest in Week 18. The finger injury appears to be his biggest concern, but he should be ready to go to Foxboro on Sunday night. Love missed Week 17 with a concussion, but was released before Week 18. Because the Packers were stuck at No. 7, they rested most of their starters, including Love. He should be ready to go when they travel to Chicago on Saturday night for the Wild Card round. Purdy suffered a tough blow late in the Week 18 loss to the Seahawks. The good news is that he has not suffered any significant injuries and his non-throwing shoulder is intact. He should be able to face the Eagles on Sunday. Allen is dealing with a foot injury, but was able to rest in Week 18 and should be as healthy as possible when he travels to Jacksonville on Sunday.
