No one would have bet a cent on them. Whether it’s Jérémy, stuck behind the counter of a video store in Amiens, or Bouna, a cleaning technician at Orly airport. Without contacts, without money and with a more than approximate level of English, nothing predestined them to become agents who count in the NBA. And yet, they did indeed succeed.
Anthony Marciano, who signed Play (2019), Poor thing (series, 2021) and The Kids (2024), captures this story of friendship and resilience. The director wrote the screenplay based on the journey of Bouna Ndiaye and Jérémy Medjana, two French sports agents who conquered the closed world of American professional basketball.
In the 1990s, the two men took over the Comsport agency. They patiently built their network and ended up representing some of the greatest current French players: Nicolas Batum, Evan Fournier and Victor Wembanyama, a French phenomenon who has been panicking the NBA since his arrival in 2023. Today, Bouna Ndiaye and Jérémy Medjana are among the most respected agents in the American professional league.
Sixth collaboration
Raphaël Quenard plays Jérémy, Jean-Pascal Zadi slips into the skin of Bouna. The two actors meet for the sixth time after Smoking makes you cough (2022), Cut! (2022), Why are you smiling? (2024), Love phew (2024) et I Love Peru (2025).
The cast also brings together Josh Casaubon, Sean Barnes, Magalie Langrais, Gabriel Caballero, Dave Campbell, David Clark, Gregory Defleur, Etienne Guillou-Kervern, Gilles Ménez, Hanorah Hanley, Olivier Lamarche and Momar Sakanoko.
The American Dream releases in theaters on February 18, 2026, distributed by Gaumont.
