Jakarta –
Recently there has been a lot of criticism from Coach Bali United Johnny Jansen about the talent scouting system in Indonesia. He said his statement was twisted.
In his remarks spread on social media, Johnny Jansen said that Indonesian clubs do not have talent scout teams. Clubs prefer to trust the recommendations of player agents and broadcasts of player actions on YouTube.
The statement was quoted from the feanonline.nl page, which contains news related to the Eredivisie club, namely Heerenveen. Incidentally, Johnny Jansen is linked to Heerenveen because he was the club’s former coach before moving to Bali United.

However, this source claims to be quoting from another Dutch page, namely Leeuwarder Courant. Johnny Jansen also claimed that some of his statements were distorted from the original source.
“I was interviewed by media in the Netherlands and one of them discussed talent scouting in Indonesia. But social media here made the wrong caption,” said Johnny Jansenquoted from detikBali.
“I never said that. Those are not the words I said, this is definitely a misinterpretation,” he added.
He emphasized that social media managers in Indonesia misinterpreted his statement about football talent scouting in Indonesia. He explained that the talent scouting statement referred to was developing young U-16 players so that they regularly train with the senior team.
The Dutch tactician believes that this method will be effective in seeing the player’s potential directly. So what talent scouting means is not recruiting new players from outside from a video.
“I always emphasize how to make the scouting system better, which doesn’t mean that the previous recruiting system was bad,” he said.
“I always talk intensely with the club’s technical director, including the owner, about developing young players,” he said Johnny Jansen.
