The Italian Cup was on the program this Sunday with the quarter-finals being played.
Results of the elimination rounds of January 4, 2026:
Schio had no trouble getting rid of Roseto who was unable to keep up the pace imposed by the partners of Costanza VERONA (12 points, 8 assists). From the 1st quarter, a big gap was obtained (29-19) and the 2nd quarter more than confirmed the trend. You didn’t have to be pessimistic to see Schio fall, because the scoreboard was clearly in their favor (55-30). Patricia BURA (16 points, 5 rebounds) and her teammates could do nothing to slow down the domination of Schio who qualified without batting an eyelid for the final four.
The next opponent will be called Sassari who managed to dispose of San Giovanni. Despite the 20 points of Sara ROUMY (2 assists), teammates DD Richards (15 points, 9 rebounds) obtained this victory in the “money-time” with a big shot scored by his captain. Indeed, Debora CARANGELO (15 points, 5 rebounds) made a big 3-point shot when the decision was not yet made (56-59).
Tortona rode its enormous momentum from December with a qualification for the semi-finals. Campobasso was the victim of Palelas CHAPTER. (12 points, 13 rebounds) and Nathalie FONTAINE (21 points, 2 assists) who tormented the opposing paint. The Tortona Giraffes had a big success at 3 points, and this allowed the partners to Francesca LEONARDI (11 points, 1 rebound) obtained a difference of +19 after 30 minutes of play (46-65). San Giovanni and Anna MAKE (9 points, 4 assists) reacted in the 4th quarter, but it was too late to turn things around.
In an authoritarian performance defensively, Venice qualified against Broni. Stéphanie WOMAN (11 points, 12 rebounds) distinguished herself with a double-double and the decision was especially evident in the 3rd quarter. Indeed, Broni was in the game at halftime, despite a difficult match on possessions left en route (26 turnovers overall). Andrijana CVITKOVIC (11 points, 5 rebounds) was the only one to score at least 10 points for the Broni club, which was really asphyxiated by the Venetian defense. With a 51-28 obtained after the 3rd quarter, Venice did the minimum at the end of the match to manage its place in the semi-final.
