Badminton Denmark’s sporting management has selected the players who will represent Denmark at the upcoming European Championships for the men’s and women’s national teams respectively in February in Turkey.
The Danish women’s national team consists of:

William Bøgebjerg has been selected as a reserve. Viktor Axelsen is injured and therefore does not participate.
“Both teams for this championship have been selected with an ambition to regain our titles and at the same time give more new players championship experience,” says national coach Thomas Stavngaard.
“On the women’s side, we are favourites, and the aim is of course to regain the EC gold. But there are a few nations that can tease us – for example, France and maybe Scotland. On the men’s side, France will of course be the biggest challenge for us. They have a really strong team, including Christo Popov, who has just won the season finals and beat Anders Antonsen along the way. And then they can put together a couple of really strong doubles too. It has been almost a foregone conclusion for a number of years that Denmark won European Championship, but it’s not like that anymore, now that France has become part of the world’s top. We’re looking forward to taking on the challenge. We’re coming to win gold, but it won’t be easy,” says Thomas Stavngaard.
The EC will be played from 11 to 15 February in Istanbul.
