The Czech Republic took 2nd place in the basic B group with eight points. At the beginning of the tournament, the Czechs lost to Canada 5:7, after that they just kept winning. They defeated Denmark 7:2, Finland 2:1 after extra time and finally Latvia 4:2.

Switzerland finished in the 3rd place in Group A, collecting 6 points. In the first match, the USA lost 1:2, Sweden 2:4, then they won over Germany 4:0 and over our representatives 3:2.
