Step back in his rehabilitation? “Romelu Lukaku comeback postponed by a few weeks”

His comeback does not seem to be imminent. Romelu Lukaku has been recovering from a thigh injury since this summer and seemed close to a return, but now La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Lukaku’s comeback has been postponed by a few weeks.
In recent weeks, hopes have grown that Romelu Lukaku would soon be able to play matches for Napoli again. He was back on the training field and even boarded a plane for the Supercoppa final.
Lukaku remained seated on the bench, but afterwards eagerly celebrated with a cigar. Trainer Antonio Conte emphasized that the injured had to be dealt with patiently, including Lukaku, but also Kevin De Bruyne.
Lukaku was also not in the selection against Cremonese last weekend. But that appears to be a sign of the future according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper now writes that Lukaku will not play for the next 2-3 weeks. Lukaku would only be able to make his return against Parma on January 14. Although that is also subject to change.
Lukaku has been sidelined since August 14 due to a thigh injury he sustained in the preparation against Olympiacos, 4.5 months ago.
