“We are the only organization in the world that finances football worldwide,” said the Swiss-Italian FIFA boss. “That is why football is played in so many countries.”
“In recent days there has been a lot of discussion about ticket sales and ticket prices,” the Swiss said during the Wold Sports Summit in Dubai. “We have 6.7 million tickets on sale. We have received 150 million ticket requests within two weeks. And we invest all revenue back into football worldwide.”

FIFA was widely criticized for the high prices for tickets for next summer’s World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. According to supporters’ organization Football Supporters Europe (FSE), tickets are almost five times more expensive than at the last World Cup in Qatar. FIFA responded to that criticism and came up with cheaper tickets for the World Cup. Of the tickets allocated to national associations, 10 percent will cost around 60 dollars per ticket, the equivalent of approximately 51 euros.

Football fans can register until January 13 for a chance to win the draw, where the tickets will be distributed. The Football World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 next year. 48 countries are participating in the tournament, with a total of 104 matches. The Red Devils are classified in group G and will meet Egypt, Iran and New Zealand.
