Archery Medals: Silver & Bronze Wins

The Venezuelan women’s and men’s compound archery teams won two silver medals and the same number of bronze medals.in their actions in the competition valid for the fifth day of the twentieth Bolivarian Games that will be held in the Peruvian cities of Ayacucho and Lima until next December 7.

The first medal of the contest held at the Andrés Avelino Cáceres Sports Complex in Villa María del Triunfo in Lima, came through the team made up of athletes Ana Mendoza, Luzmary Guédez and Faviola Biaggiotti, who won the final by a score of 229-224 against the local representation.

«It was a very nice experience despite not having the result we wanted.. From now on we will start working on the things that we must improve, but thank God we reached the final and managed to raise the name of our country high,” Mendoza highlighted after the awards ceremony for the women’s team.

Regarding the men’s team, made up of Sebastián Ávila, Eduardo González and Diego Camacho, took third placeafter dominating Peru 222-215, while Guatemala dominated Colombia 234-231 to complete the podium in the category.

«We feel grateful for the support we have received from the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic Committee. We came to give everything for our country, for our colors, for our flag and we left it as high as we could for the moment, because we are a young team with a lot of projection in this Olympic cycle«added Eduardo González.

The second silver medal was completed in the mixed teams modality thanks to the outstanding performance again of Ana Mendoza, this time accompanied by Sebastián Ávila to beat the Dominican Republic 152-146. Mendoza completed the harvest with another bronze after beating compatriot Luzmary Guédez 143-139 in the women’s singles.
