The highest entity of Colombian professional football, Dimayor issued the resolution with the sanctions to the clubs Deportivo Independiente Medellín (DIM) and Atlético Nacionalwho starred in the final of the BetPlay Cup on December 17.
What began as a party in the city where, after more than 20 years, the two clubs from the capital of Antioquia were once again starring in a final in Colombia, It ended in unfortunate events that terrified families and other fans who went to enjoy the football spectacle.

After the final whistle of referee Wilmar Roldán of a match that ended 0-1 in favor of Atlético Nacional and therefore gave the title to the purslane team, the DIM fans, in the midst of their fury for a new runner-up in this 2025 of Poderoso, began to throw down the security fences that separated the stands from the field and began to invade the field of play, preventing the awards and celebration of those led by Diego Arias.

Dimayor’s sanctions against DIM and Atlético Nacional
Given these facts, the Dimayor through Resolution 134 of 2025 established that the Deportivo Independiente Medellín will be subject to a total suspension of the place for 6 dates, which must be fulfilled in any stadium where the Poderoso officiates as a home stadium.
In addition, you will receive a penalty of three million nine hundred fourteen thousand six hundred twenty-five pesos ($3,914,625) equivalent to 11 legal minimum wages in 2025.
On the other hand, for the Club Atlético Nacional applies the same financial fine, but the total suspension on the place will be 3 dateshalf of that given to the DIM.
Both clubs were found responsible for acts of violence against people and things, throwing objects and invasion of the playing field and use of flammable objects, since the use of gunpowder was also punished by Dimayor.
Although both teams receive the same financial sanction, for the DIM a greater suspension of the square is applied because, for the Disciplinary Committee, the measures applied by the local official were insufficient, such as the use of single fences instead of double ones requested by the police, so as the organizer of the event, there is additional responsibility for the severity of the injuries reported in the context of its stands and controls.
The two sanctions can be appealed, however, the economic sanctions must be canceled to the Dimayor within twenty (20) days following notification of the punishment.
