The big upheaval announced at OGC Nice is official. This Monday, the Gym announced the appointment of Claude Puel as new coach “until the end of the season” replacing Franck Haise. In an untenable position since the Aiglons’ series of nine defeats in Ligue 1 and the European Cup, the former Lens coach is leaving the club with his assistants.
Having spent in Nice from 2012 to 2016, Claude Puel “starts today his priority mission of restoring the team’s performance”, specifies the club in its press release. A presentation press conference is planned for Monday noon.

Between 2012 and 2016, Claude Puel obtained interesting results with Nice. Notably, he twice finished the championship in fourth place, qualifying for the group stage of the Europa League. He left the club jointly after four seasons. The Frenchman had been without a club since 2021 and his last experience at Saint-Étienne.
