Cholet vs. Bourg: BCL Play-In Preview

Tofas welcomes Jordan Floyd for the end of the season. The 28-year-old American combo guard, who began his 2025-2026 campaign in Israel, is making his return to Türkiye and the BCL. The Tofas Bursa team formalized the signing of a contract until the end of the season on Saturday. He had already played in the past in Bursa, but for the other professional club, Bursaspor.

A return to BCL after a successful first experience

This is not the first time that Floyd has played in Türkiye. During the 2023-2024 season, after his experience at JL Bourg, he wore the colors of Bursaspor Info Yatirim, marking his first steps in BCL and Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi. In five appearances in European competition, he had averaged 12.4 points per game.

After finishing his university career in NCAA Division II between 2015 and 2020, Floyd began his professional career which took him to Greece, France, Italy and China. This season in the Israeli Winner League with Maccabi Cnaan Ramat Gan, he averaged 16.8 points, 3.9 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game after eight games. In France, this true sniper had the role of sixth man under the orders of Frédéric Fauthoux (14.8 points at 47%, 1.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 57 matches in all competitions). He also played in the Leaders Cup final.

A strong reinforcement for the play-ins against Cholet

Floyd joins the team led by Emil Rajkovic at a crucial time. Tofas prepares to face Cholet in a series of best-of-three Play-Ins to secure a spot in Group J of the Round of 16 of the 10th season of the BCL. ALBA Berlin and AEK are already through to this four-team group, with the series winner between Karditsa Iaponiki’s Spartak completing the table.

In the Turkish league, Tofas currently occupies sixth place with a record of 7 wins for 6 losses, tied with Anadolu Efes and Galatasaray Istanbul. The schedule promises to be busy for Frenchman Hugo Besson’s team with a match against Karsiyaka on Friday in the league, before the first match of the Play-Ins against Cholet on Tuesday January 6 at the Tofas Arena, followed by the return match on Thursday January 8 at La Meilleraie.
