Farigliano protagonist of a day of great sport and community pride. Today, Sunday 28 December, the town’s Sports Hall hosted a high-level youth basketball tournament, organized by Pallacanestro Farigliano, enhanced by an event of absolute national importance: the presence of the Serie A LBA Italian Cup.
The initiative is part of the prestigious RoadShow Trophy, the official tour promoted by the FIP which brings the trophy to the most active and virtuous Italian territories from a sporting point of view. Farigliano was selected among the very few venues in the province of Cuneo, confirming itself as a reality capable of hosting events of great importance.
The youth teams of Pallacanestro Farigliano, Vado Ligure, Nichelino and Serravalle Scrivia faced each other on the parquet, giving life to a well-organised, hard-fought and enthusiastic tournament. At the end of the races, great satisfaction for the hosts, who took first place ahead of Vado Ligure. Serravalle Scrivia completed the podium, followed by Nichelino.

Mayor Ivano Airaldi and deputy mayor Marco Giachello also took part in the event, wanting to demonstrate the closeness of the municipal administration to the world of sport and young athletes. The administration itself underlined the educational and social value of the event, praising the exemplary behavior of parents and carers, capable of creating a climate of respect, fairness and authentic sportsmanship.
Particular praise was given to Pallacanestro Farigliano, to the athletes, coaches and volunteers, whose daily commitment makes it possible to offer young people healthy opportunities for growth, aggregation and discussion.
Today demonstrated once again how Farigliano is a lively and dynamic community, capable of combining sport, participation and national level events, enhancing sport not only as a competition, but as an educational and social tool.
