The Wiener Neustädter baseball and softball club “Diving Ducks” completed its major project at the end of the year and set an important milestone: last week, after three months of construction and over 2,000 voluntary hours of work, they ceremoniously opened their modern indoor facility hall at Ducksfield am Zehnerzeile. In the future, players will be able to complete batting and pitching training all year round.
Schneeberger: “more than just proud”
“The ‘Diving Ducks’ are a sporting figurehead for Wiener Neustadt! The successes never stop, state championship title after state championship title, an excellent record with the women, the ‘Crazy Chicklets’, and we as a sports city are more than proud of that. With the new indoor hall, high-quality training for the players is possible all year round and in all weather conditions. An incredible investment in the future of the club and a quantum leap towards even more professionalism. We Congratulations and wish you much success for 2026!” said Mayor Klaus Schneeberger and City Councilor for Sports, LAbg. Philipp Gerstenmayer.
350 m² Indoor-Action
The infrastructure of the new Ducks Indoor Facility hall – over 1,000 square meters of safety nets, 800 carabiners and 200 meters of steel rope – offers weather-independent training for the players on its 350 square meters. A baseball hall in Rohrbach served as inspiration, making the “Diving Ducks” hall the second indoor baseball hall in Austria.
