A Football Observatory study released this week listed the best young players playing outside of Europe’s top five leagues (England, Spain, Italy, France and Germany).
The list considers athletes born from 2006 onwards. Three well-known Brazilian football players appeared in the top 10.
The best placed was Pedrinho, from Zenit, in sixth place. The striker, revealed by Corinthians, was sold to the Russian club in 2023, when he was 17 years old.
A little below Pedrinho, in seventh place, is Rayan, 19 years old, from Vasco, who shone for the Rio club and helped the team become a finalist in the Copa do Brasil.
Closing the top 10 is Argentine Álvaro Montoro, from Botafogo. The 18-year-old young man joined Vélez Sarsfield.
Among the names on the list is also the Portuguese Rodrigo Mora, from Porto. First place is 19-year-old Dutchman Givairo Read, from Feyenoord.
