Umang 2026: Engineering & Polytechnic Competition – February Dates

Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. Engineering College Competition Bihar: State level sports, literary and cultural competition ‘Umang 2026’ will be organized in the engineering and polytechnic colleges of the state in the new year. The competition will be held in the first or second week of February. Along with students, teachers will also participate in this.

Umang 2026 will be organized in three phases. In the first phase, competitions will be held at the college level, after which competitions will be held at the divisional level. The winning teams and participants at the divisional level will participate in the state level competition.

The first phase will start from January

The institute level competition in polytechnic colleges will start from the first week of January, while in engineering colleges these competitions will be organized between January 9 to 12. After this, divisional level competitions will be held from 15th to 19th January.

MIT Muzaffarpur has been made the venue for engineering colleges under Tirhut division, while Government Polytechnic Motihari has been made the nodal center for polytechnic colleges. Regarding this, the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education has issued guidelines to all the institutions.

Principal of MIT, Dr. M.K. Jha said that competitions like Umang play an important role in the all-round development of students. As per departmental instructions, it will be organized successfully in the new year.

There will be competitions in both team and individual categories

Sports competitions will be held in both team and individual categories. Separate classes have been created for boys and girls. Cricket will be organized only for students.
