NBA: Thunder back on the road to success even without Hartenstein
The Oklahoma City Thunder remain the benchmark in the NBA without Isaiah Hartenstein. Meanwhile, the Wagner team Orlando has to admit defeat to Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
After two defeats in the last three games, the reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder has found its way back to success. The team led by Isaiah Hartenstein, who had a calf injury, won against the Memphis Grizzlies with 119:103.
The outstanding man on the host side was once again Finals MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 31 points, eight assists and four steals. For the 27-year-old, this also marked the 100th game in a row in which he scored at least 20 points. It is the second longest streak in league history. With a record of 26:3, Oklahoma is undisputed at the top of the Western Conference.
Magic lose without three Germans
For the Orlando Magic, however, there was nothing to be gained from the Golden State Warriors due to a weak fourth quarter. Without the injured Franz Wagner, Moritz Wagner and Tristan da Silva, the team from Florida lost 97:120.
Superstar Steph Curry only converted four of his 13 three-point attempts for the Golden State Warriors, but was the best shooter of the game with 26 points. On the Magic side, Paolo Banchero was the most successful with 21 points. While Orlando remains in sixth place in the East, the Warriors are in eighth place in the West.
