BC Badminton Cup Victory: Highlights & Results

Tijuana, BC– The Baja California badminton team concluded with an outstanding participation its participation in the Baja Cup 2025, a competition held in the Multipurpose Gym of the Tijuana High Performance Center and convened by the State Association of the discipline, in coordination with the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of Baja California (INDEBC).

The event represented the culmination of an intensive three-week preparation camp, whose main objective was to raise the competitive level of the state representative in view of the next national selection towards the National Olympiad.

“In the end, all the work done during the camp was reflected. This competition functioned as a model for the national team, allowing everyone involved to raise their level. Today we see a more strengthened group, both technically and tactically,” said Jonathan Morales, president of the State Badminton Association.

27 players from the Baja California national team participated in the 2025 Baja Cup, as well as representatives from entities such as Yucatán, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Quintana Roo, Chihuahua and Aguascalientes, which contributed to increasing the demand and competitive level of the tournament.

Morales also highlighted the attitude and commitment shown by the teams during the camp and competition, underlining the mental strength and determination of the team on its way to the national qualifier. Among the most outstanding results were those obtained by Camila Morales, Marisel Fonseca, Naomi Marmolejo, Edgar Urías and Arturo Armendáriz, all of them with records as medalists in the National Olympiad.

With the experience and learning acquired in the camp and in the 2025 Baja Cup, the Baja California badminton team confirmed its objective of improving the results obtained in the previous edition of the National Olympiad, in which they won two bronze medals.
