Biathlon Grand-Bornand: Jeanmonnot & Braisaz-Bouchet Win

This Sunday smiles on the French. After Christo Popov’s historic victory in badminton, Lou Jeanmonnot and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet finished second and third respectively in the mass start at Le Grand-Bornand behind the Norwegian Maren Kirkeeide.

Lou Jeanmonnot, already impressive in the pursuit on Saturday, and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, who scored her first podium of the season, delighted the Grand-Bornand public by being in the leading group for a long time. They had to take a penalty round during the final shooting session due to a miss but then came back to play this final sprint won by the Norwegian.

Camille Bened fourth

Before that, it was Camille Bened who took the lead again after the last shot. But despite a lead that seemed comfortable, the young Frenchwoman, slower on skis than her competitors, saw the general favorites come back on her. Caught in the final sprint, she finished fourth.

She still shone in shooting, achieving a resounding 20/20. She is quite simply the only one to have achieved this performance this Sunday. The first three, Kirkeeide, Jeanmonnot and Braisaz-Bouchet, made a mistake.
