After yesterday’s drama over the protocol, where Istria was named in 1961 by the president of Rijeka, Damir Mišković, from the club sent a statement and clarification of the situation. We transmit the text in its entirety:
“After conducting internal investigations in order to determine the allegations mentioned in the official press release of HNK Rijeka, NK Istra 1961 hereby informs the interested public that during the arrival of the official delegation of HNK Rijeka at the entrance to the parking lot of the Aldo Drosina stadium, the on-duty security service at the entrance ramp found that the visiting delegation was missing previously issued parking passes.
The aforementioned situation was quickly resolved after the employee from the protocol of the visiting club brought and presented to the security service the aforementioned passes (which NK Istra 1961 delivered a few days earlier to the visiting club), and based on which the entrance to the parking lot was enabled.
NK Istra 1961 regrets if such a situation caused any inconvenience to the visiting delegation, and will take further measures in the future for better cooperation with the protocol services of the visiting clubs.
In any case, NK Istra 1961 maintains that this case is unnecessarily exaggerated in the public eye and that such situations should be resolved in good faith and through ordinary discussions between the clubs, all for the purpose of maintaining correct relations and preventing unnecessary tensions from escalating,” state Istra 1961.
