Nine judoka from VSV Hohenbostel demonstrated their skills in two different belt tests last weekend. The belt tests in judo are roughly divided into three groups. The first five belts, the so-called basic program, represent the basic training of a judoka. Here the athlete learns the basic skills that are necessary to train the sport for themselves and to take part in competitions. This is followed by three belt levels in the expansion program. The athlete’s technique is refined, and the athletes also deal intensively with more complex techniques and technique chains. This is followed by the final step to the master’s degree in black.
Johann Tessmer and Maximian Henco are already among the advanced judokas who had to attend special technique courses in addition to club training for their belt tests. Both have prepared intensively for this exam and trained diligently over the last few weeks. At a central exam in the Hanover Judo region, they were able to convincingly demonstrate the required complex techniques and technology chains to the examiners from outside the club. The intensive preparation and additional hours of practice paid off and both passed their blue belt exam.
Since the VSV Hohenbostel judo group has fortunately grown a lot in the last few months, the last regular training in December was used to add a little color to the belts of the new children. Seven judo beginners courageously faced the critical gaze of the examiner and the watching parents and proudly showed what they had already learned in their first training sessions. In addition to the first judo throws and holds, they also master the traditional greeting in judo and know the judo values underlying the sport. All 7 judoka are now allowed to wear the white and yellow belt. If you would also like to get to know the sport of judo and VSV Hohenbostel, then just come along!
