PUEBLA, Pue., December 14, 2025.- Puebla judoka Rafael Ramírez Fernández was awarded by the Mexican Judo Federation at the “Mexican Judo Gala 2025” for his bronze medal obtained in the Junior Pan American Games, which was held in Asunción, Paraguay.
This was announced by the Judo Association of the State of Puebla (AJEP) through its social networks where it sent a message to its member and the rest of the winners: “A big hug to your clubs and your families for this great achievement and may there be many more!”
In addition to Rafael Ramírez, the federation recognized the performance of judokas Aylín Ávila, silver winner and originally from Los Angeles, California, although she represents Mexico; María Fernanda Cruz Bolón, who wore bronze and was born in Chiapas; and Eduardo Sagastegui Becerra, also winner of the bronze medal and who was born in Tamaulipas.
All of them were awarded these medals in the aforementioned Pan American Games.
It is worth mentioning that Rafael Ramírez won the bronze medal at the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games, after defeating the American Anthony Farnot in the fight for third place, an achievement that highlights his effort after a difficult qualification and training process.
Ramírez Fernández is currently considered the best Mexican junior judoka in his division by the International Judo Federation. Among many other achievements, he was the champion in 2024 at the Junior Pan American Cup held in Montreal, Canada.
