Disbelief in the Allianz Arena. After a hyper-dominant opening half hour, Bayern Munich seemed to be on its way to an easy victory, but was then surprised by bottom line Mainz. The visitors went up and over Bayern with two headers, and Kane prevented the very first league defeat with a penalty in the end.
No one would have dared to predict this loss of points in advance in the Allianz Arena.
Since the defeat against Arsenal, Bayern Munich had quietly started a new winning streak, so the very last in the standings would also be rolled up for a while. On to 5 wins in a row?
Well, the opening goal actually took a surprisingly long time for Bayern standards. Kane tried with a header, Gnabry shot twice between a bunch of legs, Olise took off with a curl and Stanisic also sent another effort with the head.
All in vain. But after half an hour it was finally scored: top talent Lennart Karl was able to score 1-0 from close range.

Mainz had barely crossed the halfway line after 67 minutes, but was suddenly ahead. What now, Bayern?

But Bayern did not get further than 2-2. Still very sad, compared to the very last in the standings. It is only the second loss of points for the leader, after an earlier draw against Union Berlin.
