Razma Advances: WC Darts Second Round

Latvia’s representative Madars Razma reached the second round of the world darts championship organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) in London on Thursday.

In the first round match, Razma, who is ranked 46th in the PDC ranking, beat Dutchman Jamaj van den Herik (PDC 115th), who overcame the qualification, 3-1 in sets.

Razma scored an average of 89.07 points per run, completed one 180-point run, and made final shots with 31.4% accuracy. Meanwhile, in him, the opponent scored 81.33 points on average, but was better than Razma in “maximums” (4) and “check out” realization (36.4%).

Razma’s opponent in the second round will be Belgium’s Dimitri van den Berg, seeded 23rd, or Scotland’s Darren Beveridge (PDC 75).

Last year, Razma fought until the third round and in the fight for a place in the round of 16, he lost 1-4 to the then world number eight Stephen Bunting from England. Englishman Luke Littler became the youngest ever world champion at the age of 17.

The PDC World Championship will take place from December 11 to January 3 at Alexandra Palace in London. The total prize pool of the tournament is five million British pounds (approximately 5.7 million euros), of which one million pounds will be awarded to the next world champion.
