SC Cambuur won 0-1 at Willem II on Friday evening. IJchem Ferrah scored the most important goal in the last minute of the second half.

Cambuur has thus concluded the second period in the Kitchen Champion Division with a ticket for the play-offs and a cash prize of 75,000 euros.

For a long time it did not seem that Cambuur would gain anything from the meeting with Willem II. In the first half, Cambuur only had one chance, but Remco Balk failed to shoot the ball past goalkeeper Didilon-Hödl.

Furthermore, it was mainly Willem II that had the best of the game.

Samuel Bamba in particular, the winger that the Brabanders rent from Borussia Dortmund, got many opportunities. It was a miracle that he didn’t hurt Cambuur.

In the second half the Leeuwarders’ play seemed slightly better, but there were almost no clear-cut opportunities for Henk de Jong’s team.

Only in the last minute of regular playing time did Ichem Ferrah make it 0-1. He hit the target from outside the sixteen meters.

Cambuur took three points, but more importantly, De Graafschap lost the match to Roda JC at the same time.

The Superboeren had the best starting position to win the second period, but that did not happen when Roda JC took the lead and Cambuur won the match.

Cambuur has thus received a ticket for the play-offs, although direct promotion to the Premier League seems increasingly realistic for the Leeuwarders.
