Lena Reder from BC Offenburg was the most successful at the 53rd Baden-Württemberg Badminton Championships. In Schorndorf she won the singles title, the doubles title with Jennifer Löwenstein (TuS Metzingen) and the mixed doubles title with Alan Erben from SG Schorndorf. Alan Erben and David Kramer from SG Schorndorf each won the title twice. Together in doubles, Alan Erben in mixed doubles and David Kramer in singles.
Schorndorf is a good championship venue for Lena Reder. The second division player from BC Offenburg won all three titles in the Daimlerstadt in 2021 and 2023. And this year she was once again pleased to receive the Erich Kniepert Memorial Cup at the end of the tournament as the most successful championship participant.
Lena Reder started her title hunt in the women’s singles on the final Sunday. She prevailed in the semi-final against Sofiia Malinina (SpVgg Mössingen) with 21:17, 21:16, in the second semi-final Claudia Vogelgsang (VfB Friedrichshafen) retained the upper hand over Lina Berger (BC Offenburg) with 21:16, 21:16.
The final between Lena Reder and Claudia Vogelgsang went into the deciding set after 21:15, 19:21. With 21:9, Lena Reder had more breathing room in the end.
The favored women’s doubles were largely among themselves on the final day. Jennifer Löwenstein (TuS Metzingen)/Lena Reder (BC Offenburg) had to fight hard in the semi-finals to prevail against Lina Berger (BC Offenburg)/Sofiia Malinina (SpVgg Mössingen) with 21:19, 14:21, 21:17.
Kerstin Wagner (SG Schorndorf)/Senja Dewes (BSV Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen) made it into the final against Melina Wild (SG)/Nadja-Christine Reihle (SpVgg Mössingen) with 21:13, 21:18. With 21:10, 21:13, Jennifer Löwenstein / Lena Reder crowned themselves with the championship title.
Schorndorf’s Alan Erben and David Kramer wanted to finally win the doubles title together after several narrowly failed attempts in previous years. This time it was successful. The semi-finals were reached with concentration and clear two-set wins. Even clubmate Florian Winniger and Niklas Ditter (BSV Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen) couldn’t stop the duo there (12:21, 11:21).
The unseeded Tobias Arenz (TSV Altshausen)/Sebastian Roth (Ex. Neusatz) advanced to the second semi-final. Second seeded Mathis Alt/Orlando Peeters from league rivals BSV Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen clearly made it into the final with 21:13, 21:15.
Alan Erben/David Kramer lived up to their role as favorites. Mathis Alt/Orlando Peeters held strong in the first set and lost by just 18:21. In set two, Alan Erben/David Kramer secured the title with 21:12.
David Kramer, who was highly favored in the individual competition, met Philipp Discher (BC Offenburg) in the semi-finals. In a close game, the Schorndorfer prevailed. 21:17 in set one. In the second set, David Kramer was able to catch up and win the set 21:19.
Semi-finalist Frank Hagemeister (TuS Metzingen) played a strong individual tournament. He moved into the semi-finals with a three-set win against third/fourth seed Simon Kramer from SG Schorndorf. The Metzinger had to bow to Mark Obermeier from BC Offenburg with 13:21, 13:21.
This brought about the expected finale between David Kramer and Mark Obermeier. The second-seeded BC top player took the first set 21:19 and there was a surprise in the air.
David Kramer was able to improve and also changed his game tactics. David Kramer successfully defended his title with 21:13, 21:10.
Alan Erben from SG Schorndorf and Lena Reder from BC Offenburg were placed first in the mixed doubles and played confidently. Likewise Mathis Alt/Senja Dewes (BSV Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen) who placed second. The title went to Alan Erben/Lena Reder with 21:11, 18:21, 21:6.
Julian Kramer/Nadine Wahl from SG Schorndorf surprised with third place in the mixed doubles. In the quarter-finals they beat third seeds Florian Winniger (SG Schorrndorf)/Solveigh Berg (TV Zizenhausen) with 10:21, 21:14, 21:17. In the semifinals they lost to second seeds Mathis Alt/Senja Dewes (BSV Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen) 16:21, 16:21.
