Werder Bremen apparently feels compelled to adjust their plans with Karim Coulibaly. Since interest from other clubs in the 18-year-old central defender continues to grow, club officials are, according to ‘Bild’, looking into a possible sale after the current season. The original plan was to keep the emerging defensive jewel in its own ranks at least until 2027.
In order to avoid Coulibaly’s market value falling due to a shortening contract term and a possible downward sporting spiral for Bremen, a separation could take place in the summer. Werder relies on income from expensive sales. The top Italian clubs AC and Inter Milan as well as Juventus Turin have primarily registered interest. Scouts from Burnley FC were also there to watch Coulibaly. Most recently, the left-footed player was also linked to Eintracht Frankfurt.
