Rayo Vallecano has once again suffered a serious episode of violence in its second confrontation with a Polish team in the first phase of the Conference League. If a month ago, Lech Poznan’s visit to Madrid caused numerous incidents in the streets of Vallecas … in the early hours of this Thursday two buses with Spanish fans were attacked when they were on their way to watch the match against Jagiellonia, also a Polish team.
Three Rayo fans were injured during the brutal ambush and had to be hospitalized, according to police.
The police version relates that the two buses with Spanish fans were blocked by two passenger cars on an expressway near Ostrow Mazowiecka, in the east of the country, in the early hours of Thursday.
Then, “about fifty people, some of them masked, emerged from the nearby woods. “A confrontation occurred,” said the police of the Mazovia region, which in its statement highlights that the rapid police action prevented further damage.
At the scene, emergency medical services treated the injured and three of them “were taken to the hospital,” the same source indicated, without specifying the severity of the injuries.
According to Polish media, the buses were transporting Rayo Vallecano fans, who were heading to Bialystok to attend the match their team is playing against Jagiellonia, corresponding to the 5th day of the first phase of the Conference League.
