Montemurlo-Valbisenzio: Derby Day Preview

The time of Prato derby of group B of Regional Division 1 it’s almost here. Sunday, on the PalaLions parquet, the Montemurlo Basketball and the Valbisenzio Minibasket Center they face each other for the first time this season, in the match valid for the thirteenth day. A season that is struggling to take off for both of them. Not surprisingly, both sail in the lower part of the ranking. The red and whites have won 8 points so far and find themselves -4 from the playoff zone (but with a game to recover). Behind them, the boys coached by Matteo Piperno have two consecutive defeats, the last of which – really heavy – against Asciano. In the last round of the championship, the Lions did not take the field, as the away match against Sestese was postponed until December 17th. As far as Vaiano is concerned, the bad results obtained by coach Angelo Iacopini led the club to opt for a change on the bench with Lorenzo Mannucci, whose debut coincided with the return to success (after four consecutive defeats) against Synergy Valdarno. After that success, however, Bonari and his teammates suffered two more knockouts with Monteroni and Poggibonsi. And so, after 12 games played, the Valbisenzio Minibasket Center finds itself in penultimate position with just 4 points obtained. The derby becomes an important crossroads for both Prato teams.
