Now it’s official: Ricardo Sousa is no longer Vizela’s coach.
The information had already spread during the day – as, in fact, our newspaper had already written -, but on Tuesday night the announcement from the Minho emblem arrived, which indicates an amicable agreement to terminate the relationship.
«FC Vizela and coach Ricardo Sousa agreed, by mutual agreement, to terminate the contract that bound both parties. FC Vizela would like to thank Ricardo Sousa for all his dedication and commitment to the Club in recent months. The name of FC Vizela’s new coach will be made official in due course”, can be read in the statement issued by the Vizela team.
Under the guidance of Ricardo Sousa (who, you know BALLwas caught completely off guard with this decision, since promotion to the division, the club’s main objective, remains perfectly within reach), Vizela was actually having a positive season, as, moreover, is reflected in the league table: 5th place, with 20 points, just three behind Chaves, a club in first place that gives access to direct promotion – Marítimo leads League 2, with 29 points, and in 2nd place is Sporting B (with the same 29), but, as we know, the young lions cannot climb to the top tier of Portuguese football.
Also according to data collected by our newspaper, Ronald Molina, coach of Vizela’s under-23s, will guide the main team’s training scheduled for this Wednesday. The management leadership of Minho is studying several alternatives for the succession to Ricardo Sousa, and BALL He knows that Ivo Vieira, who until recently led Tondela in the League, is one of the options on the table.
