Badminton State Championships | Road to 2026 Olympics

The state badminton selection was successfully carried out, a fundamental process to form the delegation that will represent Morelos in the Conade 2026 National Olympiad, as reported by the head of the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of the State of Morelos (Indem), Juan Felipe Domínguez Robles.

In addition to this, he noted that more than 30 competitors from the under 13, under 15, under 17 and under 19 categories participated in the event, coming from different municipalities in the state.

The activity brought together the best exponents of badminton from Morelos, who demonstrated their competitive level and commitment in the search for a place within the state team. Among the attendees, the presence of Emiliano Carrera, gold medalist in the last National Olympics, currently considered the highest reference of this discipline in the entity and who also competes at the international level, stood out.

During the development of the selection, Axel Rogel Fajardo, coach and badminton leader in the entity, explained that the main objective is to identify the best athletes to represent the state with dignity.

“We have badminton players from Temixco, Coatlán del Río and different municipalities in the state; we seek to obtain the best results and strengthen the competitiveness of our boys,” shared the coach of the Indem training school.

Likewise, Axel Rogel highlighted the importance of collective work carried out through state camps and concentrations, where athletes train together to improve their performance, especially in the doubles modality, in which coordination and understanding between players even from different municipalities or entities is essential.

Finally, Axel Rogel thanked the institutional support provided by the Government of Morelos through Indem, pointing out that having adequate spaces and support is key to the development of badminton in the entity.
