Kem Redish’s joining the “Šiauliai” team was a complete surprise, because a player selected in the top ten of the NBA draft entering the Lithuanian league is by no means a common phenomenon, including in a team other than Kaunas “Žalgiris”.
Redis participated in nine games in the Lithuanian championship, averaging 14.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists. The Šiauliai team is in fifth place in the LKL table after 11 played games with five wins.
As stated in the team’s publication, Redish has decided to return to the United States for personal reasons. The cooperation was terminated by mutual agreement, but the Lithuanian team retains the player’s right of redemption.
The fans of the “Šiauliai” team do not sound particularly angry about the separation from the American in the social media environment, expressing the opinion that this will be an advantage for the team and the situation surrounding Redish’s playing in the team’s ranks looked depressing.
