Sersale Badminton Championships 2024: Winners Revealed

On 6 and 7 December 2025, the provincial Badminton championships of the province of Catanzaro were held in the Dodò Gabriele multipurpose center in Ferrarizzi in Sersale.

Present at the tournament twenty children regularly registered and registered with the Asd plays of Lamezia, organizer of the championships and affiliated to the Csain Calabria committee of president Amedeo Di Tillo.

The results of the competition saw Giuseppe Scarpino of Asd plays prevail in the men’s singles who defeated the field with a clear path beating the good Manuel Iazzolino in the final, while on the third place is placed by the young local Gigliotti Giuseppe.

In the doubles the Scarpino-Cuda pair prevailed over the Iazzolino-Gigliotti pair, creating a spectacular doubles final.

During the provincial competition, the children of the comprehensive institute were in the structure at the same time White – Alvaro Sersale-Petrona’ they played in the phase of the institute Badminton championships led by prof. Patrizia Salerno.
Many parents were also present at the event who appreciated it a lot, especially underlining the importance of sport and fun for the kids who, despite the effort, demonstrated commitment and dedication to the discipline.
The staff of the organizing company was present with the president Domenico Saladino, FIB federal technician, and the new Special Olympics technician Rosa Raniere who for the occasion acted as secretary and scorekeeper.
In the end, the awards ceremony saw the presence of the mayor of the city of Sersale Carmine Capellupo who, reiterating the importance of these events and being no stranger to attending events, said he was immediately available to promote new sporting and non-sporting initiatives that Asd Plays will propose in the recent future.
