U17 Euros: France’s 4 Championship Wins

Men’s singles

With three Tricolores on the men’s singles podium, France was well represented! Mady SOWseeded 1, flew over the table, leaving no set in his wake. The player from Aulnay-sous-Bois dominated in his category, well followed by his compatriots Clément MASSIAS and Lenny HUBERTto whom he was opposed respectively in the semi-final (21/8 21/10), and in the final (21/12 21/17). Mady SOW takes gold and climbs to the top of the podium, followed by Lenny HUBERT in silver and Clément MASSIAS in bronze.

Simple dames

On the girls’ side, Elisa HESS reached the round of 16, where she lost 19/21 21/17 17/21 against a Luxembourger. Give LENGUE TE took the next step by reaching the eighth, where she was stopped by a Welsh player, 21/23 15/21.

Men’s doubles

Favorites of the men’s doubles table, Rayan BENAISSA and Mady SOW dominated the exchanges throughout the competition, before being pushed to their limits in the final by the Danish pair they had beaten in the team final. The French didn’t give up and won once again, 21/18 19/21 22/20, to win a new title!

Also engaged in this painting, Clément MASSIAS and Arush RAVIKUMAR lost to an English pair, 21/12 10/21 17/21, in the round of 16.

Double dames

Mélia BEULÉ and Manon HEITZMANN created a surprise in the women’s doubles! Seed 4, the French women advanced to the final, where they fought to obtain their title of U17 European Champions, beating the English, 21/19 15/21 21/14. Zoé MARTIN-MOUCHAIN and Mathilde PINNA were, for their part, stopped in the quarter-final by another English pair, 20/22 15/21.

Mixed doubles

The mixed team also smiled on our young Tricolores! Rayan BENAISSA and Manon HEITZMANN completed their list of achievements by adding the title of U17 European Champions. While each match brought them its share of challenge, the French gave up nothing to reach the final, and win against their compatriots, Lenny HUBERT and Mélia BEULÉ (seed 5). In a fierce fight, the BENAISSA/HEITZMANN duo took the upper hand in the last round, 17/21 24/22 21/15, to climb to the highest step of the podium. The HUBERT/BEULÉ pair, who did not do poorly, walked away with the silver. Third mixed pair entered, Arush Ravikumar and Mathilde Pinna stopped in the round of 32.
