Thames Arms Seizure: Gulf Clan Arsenal Found

In the municipality of Támesis, the National Police and the Army achieved a decisive blow against the Gulf Clan, after locating and seizing an important arsenal in rural area.

The operations, carried out consecutively in the El Cacique sector, made it possible to find several coves used by the Clan del Golfo, where it was intended to strengthen its armed capacity.

“During the actions, several coves were detected in the villages of El Tambor, La Alacena and the El Cacique sector, allowing two rifles to be seized,” said Colonel Óscar Mauricio Rico, commander of the Antioquia Police.

Among the seized material are four rifles, two weapons, 13 suppliers and more than a thousand cartridges of different calibers.

“This seizure represents a direct impact on the criminal capacity of this Gulf Clan structure, reducing its possibility of carrying out attacks against the public force and especially against the community,” the officer added.

The authorities announced that operations will continue on a sustained basis in southwest Antioquia.
