Three days after the correction received in the EuroLeague against AS Monaco, which followed an elimination in the 1/8 finals of the Coupe de France at the same place, Paris Basketball absolutely had to react to relaunch in Betclic ELITE. The baptism of fire of the new Saint-Quentin coach, Eric Bartechekyended in a heavy defeat for the Picards on Parisian soil (99-69).

In a hard-fought match, the Parisians provided the essentials this Sunday evening at the Adidas Arena against Saint-Quentin. Paris Basketball took a while to get into the game and establish its rhythm. Jostled by the Picards who bravely played their luck, the teammates of Jared rod (17 points and 2 rebounds) quickly widened the gap in a first quarter (36-20, 10′) in the form of an offensive festival.
This, however, did not discourage the SQBB, which then gradually closed its gap. Better in this second quarter, Eric Bartecheky’s men stood up to the Parisians who stammered with their basketball. Carried by a Nick Johnson still as impactful (14 points and 5 assists), the SQBB remained in ambush in this first half. Still in the lead, Paris Basketball returned to the locker room with a 9-length lead (48-39, 20′).
Yakuba Ouattara and Nadir Hifi sound the revolt
If the Picards never gave up in this meeting, the Parisians gave it a boost at the very end of the third quarter (69-56, 30′). Under the leadership of a Yakub Ouattara very efficient (14 points and 3 rebounds), the capital club ended up breaking the Saint-Quentin lock, while the score was still 67-56 in the 30th minute.
After a terrible 13-0 conceded in three minutes (80-56, 33rd), it was Nick Johnson who took responsibility to stop the bleeding. Some dazzling actions from the American leader of Saint-Quentin which will remain of no consequence for Paris, as the French champion club raised its level of play at the end of the match to definitively break away, even giving the score somewhat unfair proportions for the Axonais.
Discreet in the first half, Nadir Hifi (16 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists) finally settled the sights, also contributing to the great success of his team this Sunday evening.
This time, the SQBB did not create the feat at the Adidas Arena
With 5 players over ten points and 99 points scored, Paris Basketball gained momentum as the game progressed to secure a great victory at the Adidas Arena, almost a month after its last home appearance in Betclic ÉLITE (November 9 against Limoges). A little revenge, too, compared to a Saint-Quentin team which came to create a sensation last season at Porte de la Chapelle, the only one to have won there during the regular phase…
