Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones, who was already playing with a left leg injury, injured his right Achilles tendon against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
Jones collapsed to the ground and immediately held the back of his right leg. He violently hit the ground with his helmet several times before being helped by team trainers. Jones had difficulty putting weight on his leg. The Colts quarterback left the game for further examination.
Indianapolis confirmed that Jones’ game was over.
Riley Leonard is now the one leading the Colts offense.
The two teams are tied in the American South division (8-4). The Jaguars are ahead though.
Uncertain return for Jayden Daniels
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels fell on his left elbow, which he dislocated a few weeks ago, and his return to the game against the Vikings is uncertain.
Daniels was tackled hard while chasing Andrew Van Ginkel after throwing an interception.
