“He’s the one who let the club down!”: Acherchour slams Salah
“It’s Salah who abandoned Liverpool!”: The Egyptian under fire!
Mohamed Salah’s recent media comments continue to send shockwaves through Liverpool, sparking an ongoing flurry of reactions. Among the most outspoken critics is journalist Walid Acherchour, who didn’t hold back after hearing the Egyptian star’s statements.
“If I’m a Liverpool supporter, I’m stunned by this statement… I watch all of Liverpool’s matches, and the one who abandoned the club is him. Despite his huge status, if he’s not performing, he should be on the bench, just like anyone else,” he declared,
highlighting what he considers a disconnect from Liverpool’s current sporting reality.
Salah, benched for the third consecutive time at Leeds (3-3), said he felt “thrown to the wolves,” believing the club had failed to honor promises made during his contract extension. The striker, who is set to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations in two weeks, even admitted:
“I’ll be at Anfield to say goodbye to the fans (…) because I don’t know what will happen when I’m there.”
Powerful words from the third-highest scorer in the club’s history.
His unease is even more evident as he describes the situation as “not acceptable, not fair,” insisting: “I’m not the problem, I’ve done so much for this club.” In a Liverpool side caught in the midst of a sporting and emotional crisis, Salah’s future looks more uncertain than ever as the Reds endure one of the most turbulent periods in their recent history.
