Sébastien Pocognoli has recently become the head of the French top club AS Monaco. Our compatriot has to take the Monegasques back to the top in Ligue 1, but on Saturday they suffered a heavy defeat.
Pocognoli not long ago exchanged Union SG for the South of France. After a legendary title with the people of Brussels, the former Red Devil wanted to try his luck with our southern neighbors. He has had mixed success there for the time being.
Rennes beat Monaco 4-1
Pocognoli and Monaco went to the field of sub-topper Stade Rennes on Saturday. It became a match to quickly forget for Pocognoli and his team, who had to chase after a goal from Aït Boudlal after twenty minutes.
Things then went from bad to worse for Monaco. Camara, Embolo and Blas (penalty) expanded to 4-0. Meanwhile, the visitors were reduced to ten men after a red card for Zakaria.
Biereth’s 4-1 was nothing more than a cover for the bleeding. In the standings, Rennes jumps over Monaco to fifth place. We find Monaco in eighth place.
