After a three-week hiatus from league play, the RSCA Futures were back on the pitch this Saturday evening, hosting Seraing. With their sights set on securing their first home win as February against a lower-ranked opponent, the Futures found themselves in a tough spot. Despite taking the lead and playing with a numerical disadvantage, they ultimately conceded a late equalizer, settling for a 2-2 draw.
The match kicked off with an early advantage for the RSCA Futures. In the 24th minute, Dear found the back of the net, putting his team up 1-0. This early lead, however, was short-lived.Just four minutes later,Seraing responded through Ba,leveling the score at 1-1 in the 28th minute.
The back-and-forth action continued, and the futures managed to regain their lead in the 39th minute.Come on scored, making it 2-1 and giving the home side a crucial advantage heading into halftime.
The second half saw a shift in momentum, partly due to the absence of a key player for the Futures. Seraing,capitalizing on this,managed to equalize in the 84th minute with a goal from Akpa-Chukwu. This late strike meant the RSCA Futures had to settle for a 2-2 draw, a result that will sting given they were ahead for a meaningful portion of the match.
Coach Coen was forced to make tactical adjustments to compensate for the numerical inferiority and the pressure from Seraing. Three substitutions were made, aiming to rebalance the defensive structure. These changes appeared to stabilize the team,allowing them to hold on for the draw until the final whistle.
The match was not without its disciplinary issues. Yellow cards were shown to Bahri (49′),Dacoasta (55′),and Mahroug (74′).
