The Madagascar junior badminton championships recently concluded the season with a bang at the Ankorondrano gymnasium, showcasing the burgeoning talent within the Malagasy Badminton Federation.
In its second year of operation, Futura BC d’Antsirabe emerged as a dominant force in the junior divisions, clinching three out of the five available titles. Vaillant Rakotoharinivo secured gold in the U17 boys’ singles, while Misaina Nalantonjanahary triumphed in the U13 girls’ singles, and Miranto Rakotonanahary claimed the U11 girls’ singles championship. This notable haul highlights the club’s rapid ascent and commitment to developing young athletes.
sporting Itaosy also made a significant mark, capturing two titles from their three finals appearances. Sanda Randriamananjara proved victorious in the U15 boys’ category, and Marc Enrick Mirija earned top honors in the U11 boys’ singles.Other clubs contributing to the competitive spirit included St Michel Itaosy, with Diamondra Razafindratovo winning the U17 girls’ singles; St Joseph, where Miahy Andriamaherizo took the U15 girls’ singles title; and Mb2all, whose player Mikajimahefa Razakasoavina emerged victorious in the U13 boys’ singles.
The presentation of trophies and medals for the senior champions took place on Sunday, coinciding with the youth finals. The senior championships, held in mid-October, were largely defined by the formidable performance of Mb2all players. Tokinirina Razafindimby (men’s singles) and Stephania Razafimamonjiarisoa (women’s singles), both representing Mb2all, successfully defended their A1 series titles, demonstrating their continued dominance in the sport.
In the B1 series, the men’s singles title was awarded to Julio Razafimamonjy of Dynamo Dynastie BC. The B2 series saw Assan Andrianiaina of VTTK Ivato claim the men’s singles championship, while the women’s B2 series title went to Andoniaina Randriantoeta of SCI Itaosy.
