Putting an end to a sporting career is not an easy task for any tennis player and the Argentine Pedro Cachin did so this Monday, with an emotional post on social networks.
“It was an UNFORGETTABLE journey, with many lessons along the way,” defined the man from Córdoba, No. 48 in the PIF ATP Rankings in 2023 and Gstaad ATP champion that season against the Spanish Albert Ramos Viñolas, in addition to six titles on the ATP Challenger Tour.
Almost immediately after its publication, his colleagues began to leave him messages of support and congratulations on the path he had traveled, such as Juan Martín del Potro, Francisco Cerúndolo and Guido Pella and Mariano Navone, among others.
“For many it means just a number, for me hours of training, travel, competition, sweat and experiences”; said Cachin, who moved from his native Córdoba to Spain, when he was just 19 years old and had a world of dreams ahead of him. Many of them were able to fulfill them.
“I was privileged to have competed in the best tournaments and on the best courts in the world. Rafa in Madrid, Novak in Wimbledon. Playing Davis Cup, winning an ATP, among other things. But I also don’t forget when I traveled alone to the Future…”, Cachin added.
“I leave with a calm head and proud of what I have achieved, having given my all,” defined Cachin, 30 years old and currently No. 665 in the world. The Argentine will continue to be linked to the world of rackets, as a coach.
