Josef Hála Carves His Name in BKFC History, Crowned First European Middleweight Champion
The Czech warrior achieved a monumental feat, becoming the inaugural champion of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship organization in Europe.
Bare-knuckle boxing, a raw and visceral combat sport, is experiencing a significant surge in popularity, with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) events drawing considerable attention. The organization, notably co-owned by UFC star Conor McGregor, has become a prominent platform for fighters seeking a different kind of challenge.
The BKFC arena has become a proving ground for former mixed martial arts athletes. While some, like David Dvořák, have explored opportunities with the promotion, others, like Josef Hála, have seized them with both hands. At a recent tournament, Czech and Slovak fighters showcased remarkable performances. Tomáš Meliš delivered a standout victory, defeating Andrea Bicchi in the first round. Though, the night’s most significant spotlight fell on josef Hála as he competed for the European middleweight title.
“Berserker,” as Hála is known, etched his name in the annals of BKFC history. His opponent, Francesco Ricchi, struggled to contain Hála’s relentless pressure. The Czech fighter’s dominance was evident in Ricchi’s visibly bloodied face. Hála secured two knockdowns in the second round, a feat he replicated in the third. The referee, recognizing Ricchi’s inability to continue, stopped the fight, crowning Hála the first-ever BKFC European middleweight champion.
The BKFC organization shared the pivotal moments of the championship bout via an Instagram post, highlighting Hála’s decisive victory.
